This special limited edition of 'Back in Brown' is housed in a deluxe digipak cover, and comes with a booklet of hand painted artwork by Chris Stapp.
Following the killer single "Can't Do (What I Wanna Do)", Deja Voodoo are 'Back in Brown' with their new album for 2006 -- giving lie to the received wisdom that a band's second record must be difficult, mature, reflective, or a progression. Sorry, Grandma -- this is loud, antisocial, heavy rock'n'roll.
All the turn-it-up-to-ten sonic elements informing Deja Voodoo's debut are here, but this time round it's harder and more anthemic than ever; with the lyrics addressing matters of utmost pressing importance and resonance -- girls, partying, and sticking it to the man. The sweat and blood that has gone into the making of this record is clear: tighter playing, better production values, infectious hooks, harder riffs, hotter solos. And when Deja Voodoo say blood , you know they mean it for real -- there's no stunt doubles in the bone-breakingly real world of this band.
While lesser bands plunder the past and come up with a lame pastiche, making them a sad, hard rock equivalent of Sha Na Na, Deja Voodoo could've actually been real contenders in the '70s. Or '80s. Or '90s. Luckily for us, the band is happening NOW -- and that, we can be thankful for. Item Details
