As in the past, today the motorcycle is a symbol of freedom, of cheerful, carefree trips. However, the motorcycle is also an advanced machine in a constant state of technical evolution. The adventure started during the second half of the 19th century with a coughing, unbalanced prototype. Then, with the birth of numerous car manufacturers some ventured, not always successfully, on also producing somewhat more reliable motorcycles. Over the years engineering and technological advances have given the motorcycle greatly improved performance, superior ergonomics, and more comfort for the rider. This volume presents a selection of 61 legendary and symbolic motorcycles, from the Harley Davidson Twin 1000 of 1913 to the Bimota DB7, enhancing the story with photographs and historical documents.
