Auckland blues band The Flaming Mudcats confidently move through different components of the blues — shuffles, soul, funk, four on the floor rock and roll and low down blues.

The title of their debut album is not only the name of a blazing Ike Turner song that the band particularly enjoys firing out at gigs, but it is also the band’s long overdue response to fans clamouring “Got any CDs?”

Cutting loose on a repertoire comprising of mostly original material the band just up and played ‘live’ in the studio, capturing their gig sound and Gave You What You Wanted is the end result, a blistering inferno of groove.
