Keyboard player and composer Kevin Field has featured on approximately 30 albums including Nathan Haines' 'Heaven & Earth', 'Right Now', 'Soundtravels', and 'Shift Left', as well as albums by artists such as Whirimako Black, Sola Rosa, and The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Produced by Nathan Haines, Field of Vision was recorded at Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios and George Schoushkoff's classic Revolver Studio. The album which was recorded utilizing the warmth of analog equipment is a new direction for Kevin. "After making two albums based around the jazz piano trio format, the last thing I wanted to do was repeat myself. I was hearing a different sound for this album."
